Workflow areas for legal and compliance users

Payment Date Adjustment (Reapply / Advance Payment)

Purpose: When a payment was received and posted but did not advance the Next Payment Due Date, this procedure corrects the date and increments the Payments Made count so the loan reflects the correct payment status.

When to use this procedure

Understanding loan types

Loan TypeInterest CalculationHow It Works
Type 5 or 7Daily interestAll receivable interest on the account is covered before any amount is applied to principal
Type 1 or 4Simple / 30-day interestAlways covers exactly 30 days of interest regardless of whether the payment is early or late

Procedure in ConcordLink

Current limitation: ConcordLink does not yet have a self-service UI for payment date adjustments. Because ConcordLink uses ledger-based accounting, date changes involve additional reconciliation steps that require backend processing.

Step 1 — Verify the request

  1. Open the obligation in ConcordLink
  2. Navigate to the payment history and confirm that the payment in question posted but did not advance the Next Payment Due Date
  3. Note the current Next Payment Due Date
  4. Note the current Payments Made count
  5. Confirm the loan type (Type 5/7 = daily interest; Type 1/4 = simple interest)

Step 2 — Submit the adjustment ticket

Create a ticket to the Concordlink engineering team with the following information:

FieldWhat to Provide
Account / Obligation IDThe ConcordLink obligation identifier
Current Next Payment DateThe date currently displayed (e.g., 07/02/2026)
Corrected Next Payment DateSame day, next month (e.g., 08/02/2026)
Current Payments MadeCurrent count (e.g., 34)
Updated Payments MadeCurrent count + 1 (e.g., 35)
Loan TypeDaily interest (5/7) or Simple interest (1/4)
Reason"Payment misapplied — did not advance due date. Reapply to cover one month."
Source Ticket #The original request ticket number

Step 3 — Verify completion

Once the ConcordLink team confirms the adjustment is complete:

  1. Open the obligation in ConcordLink
  2. Confirm the Next Payment Due Date now shows the corrected date
  3. Confirm the Payments Made field has been incremented
  4. Confirm the Delinquency Days reflect the updated status
  5. Close your source ticket
