Credit Reporting Workflow
Reviewing furnished data, correcting errors, processing indirect disputes via e-OSCAR, and documenting responses.
The credit reporting process involves reviewing previously furnished data, correcting errors, and processing disputes received through credit bureaus.
Where to find credit reports
- Log into ConcordLink and navigate to the main dashboard (the top-level Concord view, not a specific client company).
- On the toolbar in the upper middle of the screen, select Credit Reports.
Recent behavior changes
Recent platform updates changed how ConcordLink handles legacy accounts, delinquency dates, status-code labels, the source of truth for what gets furnished, and how the Calculate and Generate steps run. Review these before your next monthly furnishing cycle:
- Legacy accounts past the 7-year window are no longer re-reported. Long-closed accounts that have exceeded the seven-year furnishing window are now excluded from the outgoing file. Previously, some closed legacy accounts were re-appearing on Metro 2 output; those will no longer flow through.
- Date of First Delinquency (DOFD) resets after a cure and re-default. When an account cures and then re-defaults, the DOFD is reset to the new delinquency date rather than preserving the original. Review DOFD values with this in mind when investigating disputes on accounts that cured previously. DOFD is now also visible on the obligation view and in the data fields list. See Obligations.
- Status-code labels updated to the 2025 Metro 2 reporting guide. The account status-code labels shown in ConcordLink now match the terminology in the 2025 Metro 2 reporting guide. If a label looks different from what you remember, it reflects the current Metro 2 standard — the underlying reporting behavior is unchanged.
- Stored report details are the single source of truth. What gets filed to the bureaus is driven by the stored credit report details on the obligation. Any manual corrections must be reflected in those stored details to affect the next furnishing.
Review last month's furnished data
- From the main dashboard, select Credit Reports from the toolbar in the upper middle of the screen.
- Navigate to the most recently submitted credit report data.
- Review all furnished accounts for accuracy, including:
- Payment history
- Account balances
- Account status codes
- Obligor personal information (name, address, SSN)
- Date of First Delinquency — confirm it reflects the current delinquency episode, not a prior one that has since cured
Make manual corrections for reporting errors
- Identify any accounts with reporting errors from Metro2 file review.
- Navigate to the relevant Obligation record in ConcordLink.
- Update the incorrect fields directly on the obligation detail page. Because the stored report details are the source of truth, edits must land there to affect the next filing.
- Go to the Activities tab and log a note documenting:
- Errors
- Corrections
- Date of corrections
- Confirm corrections are queued for the next reporting cycle.
Process indirect disputes
- When a borrower initiates a dispute through a credit bureau (Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion), the bureau routes it to Concord.
- Log into e-OSCAR and locate the incoming dispute.
- Review the dispute details including the borrower identity information, the specific item being disputed, and the bureau submitting the dispute.
- Cross-reference the obligation record in ConcordLink to investigate the claim.
- Determine the appropriate resolution:
- Dispute is valid. Correct the data on the obligation and update the furnishing.
- Dispute is invalid. Document the basis for denial with supporting data.
- More information is needed. Note the status and follow up before the response deadline.
Document dispute responses in ConcordLink
- Return to the relevant Obligation in ConcordLink.
- Navigate to the Activities tab and create a new note.
- Document the bureau that submitted the dispute (for example, Equifax), the date the dispute was received, a summary of the dispute claim, the resolution taken (corrected, denied, or pending), and the date the response was submitted back to the bureau.
- Save the activity to maintain a complete audit trail.
